“From the first moment we visited Harefield Barn, we fell in love with both the venue AND the team. There was no pressure during the first meeting, and we were made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. There were already answers and solutions to all our questions and requests, so we knew the organisation would be amazing…”
As autumn arrives on our doorsteps and the cooler temperature sets in, it brings us a huge amount of joy to visit memory lane and look back at some of our recent summer celebrations. Fran and James’ June wedding at Harefield Barn is certainly no exception, where the couple tied the knot on Saturday 24th June 2023 in the glorious sunshine. With the talented Menagerie Lifestyle Photography at the helm capturing their day as it unfolded, we thought we’d share a glimpse inside their big day with you on the journal. Keep scrolling to soak up the summer rays and be utterly inspired…
Describing their wedding as, “the day of our dreams”, Fran and James had their hearts set on a colourful and rustic celebration in the countryside. “We took a lot of inspiration from previous Harefield Barn wedding photos,” explains Fran. “We were able to DIY all the decorations we wanted with the help and advice from the Harefield team.” In Bloom Devon worked their floral magic, creating big, blousy wildflowers in a myriad of bright hues, elevating their vibrant wedding theme. For their ceremony, the couple fell in love with the outdoor setting at Harefield Barn, featuring expansive views across the rolling countryside and our romantic gazebo. To add a splash of colour to their nuptials, the couple decorated their ceremony chairs with colourful streaming ribbons that swayed gently in the wind.
Fran looked stunning in a boho-inspired wedding dress from Love Spell Bridal Shop, which was adorned with elegant petal appliqué and long, sheer removable sleeves. The bride wore her hair in a half-up half-down style, with natural and glowing make-up (all done by Fran herself!) and a pair of colourful block heels that perfectly completed her aisle style. Her team of ‘maids looked gorgeous in an array of jewel-coloured gowns, which worked wonderfully with the couple’ bright and bold wedding colour scheme.
Following their alfresco ceremony, Fran and James enjoyed drinks and canapés on the terrace with their loved ones, before moving into the main barn for the wedding breakfast. A canopy of fairy lights twinkled above their round tables, which featured wildflower centrepieces and chairs adorned with the same colourful ribbons. Balloons (in matching jewel tones to the bridesmaids) were also dotted around the room along with leafy foliage installations that effortlessly set the scene for a feast. The incredible team at Milkshed Catering were on hand to provide scrumptious sharing platters for their main wedding food, as well as delicious pasties in the evening.
As the evening drew in, the couple snuck off with their photographer for those all-important golden hour shots – which are utterly gorgeous against the countryside backdrop of Harefield Barn. Meanwhile, guests enjoyed playing garden games, before dancing the night away to a DJ in the evening. And if the couple were to have any words of advice for newly engaged couples, they’d say…
“Don’t overwhelm yourself with choice. If you like something, go for it!”
It was such a pleasure to host Fran and James’ summer love story here at Harefield Barn and we hope you’ve enjoyed looking back at their big day as much as we have! If you’d like to explore the setting for yourself, we welcome you to get in touch to book in a viewing.
